State Academy on Statistical Administration (SASA)

State Academy on Statistical Administration (SASA),an institute for training and research study of the Department of Economics and Statistics situated at Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram SASA shall function as a centre of excellence for training and research studies in Official Statistics on par with the standards set by the National and International Institute of similar nature which has been included in 6th Activity of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Central and State Governments on the implementation of the Support for Statistical Strengthening Project (ISSSP).

The new building was inaugurated on September 7, 2021 by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala and started it’s functioning in the new building. Residential / Non-Residential Training Programs were conducted after the installation of other physical facilities.

SASA TRAINING FACILITIES

The academy has 2 training halls, each can accommodate a maximum of 30 partipants.In addition, the acdemy has a well equipped computer lab with the capacity to provide hands on training to 25 persons at a time. All training class rooms and computer lab have interactive multitouch viewboards. FTTH 100 mbps internet connectivity with WiFi facility is provided in all classrooms and office rooms.

SSA HOSTEL FACILITY

As SASA is a residential training centre, it has hostel facility to provide accommodation for the training participants of the institute. Presently the hostel capacity in the academy is 10 rooms each with three beds, so a maximum of 30 persons can be accommodated at a time.

2015-16

  • Established in a private rental building on  30/09/2015 at Kattakada, Thiruvananthapuram and started Training Programmes.
  • Conducted  2  training Programs
  • No. of participants - 60.

2016-17

  • Conducted  2  training Programs and one National Seminar
  • No. of participants -200.
  • Shifted to Kaimanam, Chirakkara Palace.

 

2017-18

  • Started functioning at Chirakkara Palace.
  • Conducted 8 training Programs
  • No. of participants - 240.
  • Construction work of SASA building started at Kaimanam.

 

2018-19

  • Conducted 13 training Programs
  • No. of participants - 366
  • Construction work of SASA building progressing

 

2019-20

  • Conducted 9 training Programs
  • No. of participants - 275
  • Construction work of SASA building progressing

 

2020-21

  • Due to Covid-19 restrictions, training programs could not be organized
  • Construction work of SASA building progressing

 

2021-22

  • As Covid-19 restrictions continued, only 2 training programs      (for 45 employees) could be organized.
  • Construction work of SASA building completed and inauguration has been done by Hon.Chief Minister of Kerala on  7th September 2021
  • To provide drinking water facility, installed tube well and pumping system through Kerala Ground Water Department
  • Purchased and installed furniture for training hall, computer lab, office, hostel rooms and dining hall.
  • Purchased video camera and microphone required for conducting online training programs.
  • Provided electric connection to the building
  • Internet and Intercom were installed in all the rooms of the building.
