Index of Industrial Production  Training Programme for the year 2025–26 

The State Level Annual Training Programme on the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) 2025–26 was conducted on 18 February 2026 at the Directorate Training Hall.The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Rashmi C. P., Director of the Department. Smt. Shalini P. K., Additional Director (State Income), presided over the function. Smt. Shylamma K., Additional Director (General), Smt. Leelavathi S., Additional Director (Prices), and Shri Sam Joseph, Senior Administrative Officer, offered felicitations.As part of the training programme, Shri Abdul Gafoor, Assistant Director, and Shri Aravind Krishnan R., Statistical Assistant Grade II, handled sessions on Factory, Item Basket Section, Base Year Revision, and Wholesale Price Index.

Labour & Housing Statistics DivisionTraining Programme for the year 2025–26 

A training programme on the various surveys and schemes of the Labour & Housing Statistics Division was conducted on 10-02-2026 at 10.00 AM in the Conference Hall of the Directorate. A total of 76 staff members participated in the programme.The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Shri Cijith K. S., Assistant Director, Labour & Housing Division. Smt. Shalini P. K., Additional Director (State Income), presided over the function. In her introductory remarks, she spoke about the importance of the surveys and schemes implemented by the Labour & Housing Division. The training programme was inaugurated by Smt. Shailamma K., Additional Director (General). Shri Gopakumar S., Joint Director (E.A.R.A.S.), delivered the felicitation address. Shri Adarsh R. S., Assistant, Labour & Housing Division, proposed the vote of thanks.The technical session commenced thereafter. The first presentation, on the price data of building materials and wage rates of labourers, was delivered by Shri Cijith K. S., Assistant Director, Labour & Housing. This was followed by a presentation on Minor Minerals Price Collection by Smt. Anithakumari A., Research Assistant, Labour & Housing Division. Smt. Sindhu S., Assistant, Labour & Housing Division, presented on the topic “Wage Structure Survey.” Subsequently, Shri Abhilash V. R., Assistant, Labour & Housing Division, delivered a presentation on “Building Statistics.”A quiz programme related to the schemes and surveys of the Labour & Housing Division was also organized as part of the training. The first prize winner, Kumari Anagha P., Research Officer, Wayanad District, was awarded the prize by Smt. Shalini P. K., Additional Director (State Income).

Annual Survey of Industries Training Programme for the year 2025–26 

The  Annual Survey of Industries Training Programme for the year 2025–26 was conducted on 23rd and 24th January 2025 at the Training Hall of the Directorate of the Department. The programme was inaugurated by the Director of the Department, Smt. Reshmi C. P. The inaugural session was presided over by Smt. Shalini P. K., Additional Director (State Income). The welcome address was delivered by Shri Premarajan E. V., Deputy Director (VS). Smt. Shailamma K., Additional Director (Prices), along with officials from the National Statistical Office (NSO), Smt. Vinishya and Shri Srihari B., offered felicitation addresses. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Naseera M., Assistant Director (ASI).

E.A.R.A.S. State-Level Annual Training Programme 2025–26

The E.A.R.A .S. State-Level Annual Training Programme 2025–26 was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri P. Prasad. The inaugural session was held at the Training Hall of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics and was presided over by the Director of the Department, Smt. Reshmi C.P. The function was attended by Shri P. C. Mohanan, ISS (Retd.), Chairman, Kerala State Statistical Commission; Shri Bibeesh E.M., Deputy Director General (NSO–FOD); and Smt. Sapna S., Additional Director, Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare. The training programme was conducted over 6th and 7th, with the participation of district-level officers, including Deputy Directors, from various districts.

Inauguration of Mobile and Web Applications Developed by Digital University Kerala (DUK) for the Department of Economics & Statistics

The mobile and web applications developed by Digital University Kerala (DUK) for the Department of Economics & Statistics were officially launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, on 03.01.2026 at 12:30 PM. The application, titled Application for Intelligent Data Engineering and Analytics (AIDEA), is available at the web address www.aidea.kerala.gov.in.The mobile application is also available under the name AIDEA.

As the nodal agency responsible for handling official statistics in the State, the Department of Economics & Statistics conducts various surveys and data collection activities. Through this application, it is envisaged to facilitate the smooth conduct of such surveys and data collection processes, ensure accuracy and transparency of the data collected, enable faster availability of information required for planning purposes, and enhance overall efficiency through the effective use of technology. As part of the AIDEA application, the EARAS module has presently been implemented to enable the collection of field-level data of the agricultural survey conducted by the Department of Economics & Statistics across all Panchayats, Municipalities, and Corporations in the State. The data collected through the mobile application can be monitored and reports generated through the web portal. In future, additional modules are proposed to be developed under the AIDEA application to facilitate the direct collection of price data of various commodities collected on a daily basis by the Department from markets, and to provide timely analytics and related information to the general public.
