Introduction
Department of Economics and Statistics is the Nodal Agency for the collection, compilation and dissemination of price statistics in the state. Department is collecting various types of prices from various centers in the district. Price data prepared by the department is used by various central and state government departments and agencies such as Civil Supplies Department, Forest Department, Reserve Bank of India, Spices Board, Supplyco, KSEB etc.
Department is collecting wholesale prices of commodities from selected Taluk centres and all district headquarters on a daily basis on all working days and consolidate at directorate. Analysis of prices thus collected are being done at directorate and daily and weekly reports are sent to various State and Central government agencies, RBI etc. Market Intelligence prices also being broadcasted daily in all Akasavani centres in Kerala of All India Radio.
This bulletin is being published daily incorporating the Wholesale Prices of most important commodities under Market Intelligence scheme. Group wise analysis has been made with reference to current date, previous date, the date corresponding to the previous month and the date corresponding to the previous year with suitable pictorial representations. These prices are being collected from the markets by the price collectors and then supervised by district level Officers.
This bulletin reflects the average wholesale prices of market commodities for the latest available dates (working days). The items vary from centre to centre and the date of price collection is according to the functioning of the markets. The items allocated to each centre and the day of collection of prices may be seen in the MI Schedule.
Price trend of important commodities
The trend chart given below shows the market wholesale prices of slected important commodities from 01-01-2023 to till date.
District wise latest price
The bar charts given below show the district average of latest market wholesale prices of slected important commodities. The availability of district price depends on the data collection of MI price from the respective centres.
How to use the charts and analyse the data
The date showing in the chart is the date in which the latest price is available. 'Price' means current date, 'Prev Day' means previous date in which price is available [if it is a holiday, then day before that day], 'Prev month' means the date corresponding to the previous month and 'Prev year' means the date corresponding to the previous year. On hovering over the chart, the colour of the letter will be corresponding to the colour of the bar. Usually the highest price will be shown first on each series.
The comoodity items in each chart and plot values can be filtered according to the user's need. The chart can be further expanded to full view after clicking on 'Chart Detail View' icon at the bottom right. The data table from which the chart is built can be open by clicking on 'View Data' icon at the bottom third right. The chart can be download as image by clicking on 'Download' icon at bottom second right. The 'Chart Detail View' will be opened in new browser Tab and in thi sview, the 'tag' given at the bottom left will be clickable and on clicking this tag, the similar charts tagged with such tag will be opened.
This chart will be updated at 6.30 PM daily. A table having State level average prices of all commodities is given at the end of this report for item wise price analysis. For district wise details of prices, the enquiry tables available in this dashboard may be referred.

Analysis of Wholesale Prices of different varities of rice
State average wholesale prices of different varieties of rice- raw rice, chamba, jaya, Palakkadan Jaya, Andhra Vella, Matta, pavizham, surekha etc compared to previous day's prices. Users can further filter commodities from 'Filter Item' and prices from 'Plot Values' for custom analysis of desired items.
