VITAL RATES, REPORTS, ANALYTICS, DATASETS
According to the United Nations, civil registration is defined as the continuous permanent and compulsory recording of the occurrence of vital events, like, live births, deaths, foetal deaths, marriages, divorces as well as annulments, judicial separation, adoptions, legitimations and recognitions.
IMPORTANT VITAL RATES
vital rates, relative frequencies of vital occurrences that affect changes in the size and composition of a population. When calculated per 1,000 inhabitants—as is conventional in vital-statistics publications—they are referred to as crude rates. More refined rates often must be used in the more meaningful analysis of population change.
Infant mortality rate (IMR) is the number of deaths per 1,000 live births of children under one year of age. The rate for a given region is the number of children dying under one year of age, divided by the number of live births during the year, multiplied by 1,000.
Maternal mortality ratio = (Number of maternal deaths / Number of live births) X 100,000 The maternal mortality ratio can be calculated directly from data collected through vital registration systems, household surveys or other sources.
